Allen-Bradley Programmable Controllers, Motor Control and Safety Components
Dr. Stanton Allen and Lynde Bradley formed the Compression Rheostat Company in Wisconsin in 1903, and it was reincorporated as the Allen-Bradley Company in 1909. Rockwell International bought Allen-Bradley in 1985. Allen-Bradley is now a brand of Rockwell Automation, headquartered in Milwaukee.
Allen-Bradley makes programmable logic controllers, motor control centers and contactors, drives, human-machine interfaces, sensors, and safety components and systems. Its PLC families include the PLC-5, the SLC 500 and ControlLogix. Plants often keep older PLC systems running for years, so modules and accessories for earlier platforms stay in demand.
