Eaton Hydraulic Fittings, B-Line Strut and Electrical Products

Eaton traces its start to 1911, when Joseph O. Eaton, Henning O. Taube and Viggo V. Torbensen incorporated the Torbensen Gear and Axle Co. in Bloomfield, New Jersey. The company moved to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1914. In 2002 Eaton bought most of Dana's Boston Weatherhead industrial hose and fitting business, and in 2012 it completed its purchase of Cooper Industries, which brought the Cooper B-Line business under the Eaton name.

Eaton's hydraulics business made hose, fittings and couplings under the Weatherhead name, along with other mobile and industrial hydraulics products. Danfoss completed its purchase of that business in August 2021, and the line now carries the Weatherhead by Danfoss name. Eaton's B-Line series covers support systems: strut, or bolted metal framing, for cable, pipe, conduit and duct support, along with cable tray and wire basket systems. Hydraulic machines outlast changes of ownership, so fittings marked Eaton or Weatherhead stay in service, and replacements are still matched by the original part number.

Four-bolt split flanges follow SAE J518, which defines two codes: Code 61 for standard duty and Code 62 for heavy duty. The two are not interchangeable. Code 62 flanges have a larger head diameter and greater thickness and take their own bolt pattern and fastener sizes, so match the code first and the size second.
