Kenwood Two-Way Radios, Repeaters and Radio Accessories

Kenwood was established on December 21, 1946, as Kasuga Radio Co., Ltd. in Komagane, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. In October 2008 it merged with JVC to form the holding company JVCKenwood. Its two-way radio line covers handheld and mobile radios, repeaters and infrastructure.

Kenwood has built two-way radios for a range of communications standards, including DMR and NXDN digital radio, and has offered HF, VHF/UHF and portable amateur radio lines. Commercial two-way radios are programmed for a system's frequencies and channels, so a used radio is reprogrammed for the buyer's system before it goes into service.

Kenwood's TK-280/380 family is built in frequency splits marked by a Type number. On the UHF TK-380, for example, Type 1 covers 450 to 490 MHz, Type 2 covers 470 to 512 MHz and Type 3 covers 400 to 430 MHz, so match the Type to your system before you buy.
