Carrier Building Automation Controllers, Sensors and HVAC Controls
Carrier was founded in 1915, when Willis Carrier and six other engineers formed the Carrier Engineering Corporation. United Technologies acquired Carrier in July 1979, and Carrier was spun off as an independent company in 2020. Carrier is based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Automated Logic is among its brands.
Carrier makes heating, ventilation and air conditioning, refrigeration, and fire and security equipment. Its controls range runs from thermostats and zoning systems to web-based software, and its i-Vu building automation system is a web-based BACnet system that ties Carrier controls, both legacy CCN and BACnet, to Carrier equipment. Building owners keep an installed automation system running for years, so replacement controllers and room sensors that match the existing system stay in demand.
