Leviton Wiring Devices, Lighting Controls and Occupancy Sensors
Evser Leviton and his son Isidor Leviton founded the company in 1906, making brass mantle tips for natural gas lights on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Leviton is privately held and moved its headquarters to Melville, Long Island, in 2009.
Leviton makes electrical outlets and light switches, GFCI and USB charging devices, lighting control systems, network infrastructure, load centers and circuit breakers, EV charging stations and utility submetering equipment. Its wireless lighting controls include the LevNet RF line, among them occupancy sensors that power themselves from built-in solar cells. Occupancy sensors and switches are usually replaced one at a time in an existing installation, so the model number on the unit coming out is the one to match.
