SMC Corporation was founded in 1959 as Sintered Metal Corporation and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. It specializes in pneumatic control engineering for industrial automation, from directional control valves to actuators and air line equipment. SMC Corporation of America began serving the U.S. market in 1972, and in 2009 moved its headquarters, main factory and central warehouse to Noblesville, Indiana.
