Watts Ball Valves, Pressure Regulators, Relief Valves and Backflow Preventers
English immigrant Joseph E. Watts opened an independent machining shop in Lawrence, Massachusetts, in 1874, the start of the Watts Regulator Company, and his first pressure relief valve patent was a commercial success. Watts Water Technologies is headquartered in North Andover, Massachusetts.
Watts makes valve products for plumbing and heating: shutoff valves including ball valves, pressure reducing valves, relief valves including the temperature and pressure (T&P) relief valve for hot water tanks, and backflow preventers. A shutoff valve is replaced to match the pipe size and the end connection already in the line, such as threaded or solder.
