Product Overview

Eight thermocouple, millivolt, volt or current inputs, each one isolated, feed a single channel of the controlling DAQ device through this SCXI analog input module. Gain is set by jumper on every channel, each channel has its own lowpass filter, and working isolation is 250 Vrms.

Key Features

  • 8 isolated input channels, multiplexed into one channel of the DAQ device
  • Output range +/-5 V
  • Jumper gains of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 2000
  • Lowpass filter on each channel, selectable at 4 Hz or 10 kHz
  • 250 Vrms working isolation
  • 32-pin DIN C male front connector for a terminal block
  • 50-pin male ribbon-cable rear connector
  • Thumbscrews at the top and bottom of the front panel

Applications

  • Reading thermocouples on a process line with high common-mode voltage, through an SCXI-1320 or SCXI-1328 block
  • Swapping a failed SCXI-1120 out of a chassis that still runs its original configuration
  • Holding a spare isolated input slot for a legacy NI acquisition rack

Frequently Asked Questions

Which terminal blocks plug onto the front?

The SCXI-1320 and SCXI-1328 screw-terminal blocks. Both carry an onboard temperature sensor and mate with the 32-pin DIN C front connector.

Are gain and filter set from software?

No. Both are set per channel with jumpers on the board, so match them to the module being replaced before it goes in the chassis.

Was this module taken out of a working system and left untested?

Yes. It came out of a working system, shows minor marks from use and storage, and has had visual inspection only. You get the module itself, and take on setting its jumpers and proving each channel in your own chassis. Flat-rate shipping in the lower 48, and orders over the free-shipping line ship free.

The front panel spells out 8 CHANNEL ISOLATION AMPLIFIER in plain capitals, which is the whole job description. Set the jumpers to match the old one and let your chassis be the judge.
