Swagelok Tube Fittings, Valves and Fluid System Components
Fred A. Lennon and Cullen B. Crawford founded the Crawford Fitting Company in Cleveland, Ohio, in July 1947 to make the Swagelok tube fitting, and a year later Lennon bought out Crawford. Through the 1950s and 1960s the product line grew through brands including Whitey, Cajon and Nupro. In 1997 the company focused its identity on the single name Swagelok. It is headquartered in Solon, Ohio.
Swagelok's line is built around the two-ferrule Swagelok tube fitting, and its products include fittings, valves, regulators, hoses, filters, sample cylinders, tubing and measurement devices. Its valve range takes in ball, check and needle valves. Instrument and process lines are built to a tube size and end connection, so a replacement fitting or valve is matched to the system by its full Swagelok ordering number.
