Condition

Used. Gold-plated edge connector strips trimmed from 1990s telecom equipment circuit cards, sold by the lot at 100 grams or more per lot. Not assayed. No returns on scrap purchases - what you see in the photos is what ships.

Product Overview

Edge connector fingers are the plated contacts that carry a circuit card's signals into its slot. This lot was trimmed from 1990s telecom cards, so most of the weight is contact strip and a narrow band of laminate rather than whole boards, which is why recyclers sort finger stock apart from the rest.

Key Features

  • Gold-plated contact strips, sold by the lot at 100 grams or more per lot
  • Trimmed from 1990s telecom equipment
  • Mix of single-sided and double-sided strips
  • Short stubs and long strips with varied contact counts and pitches
  • Some strips carry green solder mask, silkscreen numerals and plated through-holes along the cut

Applications

  • Small-batch precious metal recovery at a home or school lab bench
  • Combining with other finger stock to build a refining lot
  • Circuit board art, mosaics and jewelry blanks
  • Classroom samples of card-edge connector construction

Frequently Asked Questions

How much gold does this lot hold?

The lot is not assayed and carries no yield figure. It is sold by weight of the strips, not by recovered metal.

Is the board material counted in the weight?

Yes. The weight covers the whole strips: the plated contacts and the laminate under them.

Are returns accepted?

No. Scrap purchases are final. The photos show the exact lot you will receive - examine them carefully before purchasing.

What am I buying, and what am I taking on?

One lot of gold-plated contact strips, 100 grams or more, mixed in length, width and finish. Recovery method and yield are yours to determine. Flat-rate shipping; orders over the free-shipping line ship free.

Every one of these strips spent the 1990s holding a telecom card in its slot. The cards are long retired, and the plating is waiting on your bench.

Obtainium have been a very helpful seller to me.

In recent times I have had a few items go astray enroute to my address in Australia. This seller was most helpful & encouraging, regarding the onward tracking & eventual safe delivery of this item. This item's arrival in good condition was a joy to me as, it was a rare part that fitted my military comms. Well done seller. I would gladly recommend this seller to all potential buyers.
