Sturtevant Richmont

Sturtevant Richmont Torque Wrenches, Torque Screwdrivers and Torque Checkers

The company joins two torque wrench lines. P.A. Sturtevant introduced the original deflecting beam torque wrench, and Frank Livermont designed the first clicker type torque wrench; the two companies were later combined. Sturtevant Richmont was based in Carol Stream, Illinois, when Snap-on acquired it in 2016.

Sturtevant Richmont makes torque tools: micrometer adjustable, preset, interchangeable head, digital, dial and flat beam torque wrenches, torque multipliers, adjustable and preset torque screwdrivers, and torque checkers, and it calibrates tools in its ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories. The company's own guidance is to check torque tools often in the plant and send a tool out for laboratory calibration when a check shows it is needed, rather than on a fixed calendar.
