Product Overview

SCXI digital input, digital output and relay modules that sense or switch line-level signals need a front block rated for it, and this one carries 300 Vrms isolation bank to bank and bank to earth. It has 48 screw terminals in eight isolated groups of six, each group labeled VCC, four CHAN positions and GND.

Key Features

  • 48 screw terminals in eight isolated banks of six
  • Channels silkscreened CHAN(0) to CHAN(31), with VCC and GND in each bank
  • 300 Vrms common-mode isolation, bank to bank and bank to earth
  • Takes 26 to 14 AWG wire; for signals that may reach 300 V, use wire rated 300 V and 60 degrees C, stripped no more than 7 mm
  • ERNI connector at the rear of the board for the module
  • Board silkscreen: SCXI-1326 and a high-voltage earth ground warning

Applications

  • Sensing line-voltage contacts on an SCXI-1162HV in a plant monitoring rack
  • Carrying relay outputs from an SCXI-1163R out to field loads
  • Replacing a damaged block on an existing SCXI digital I/O chassis

Frequently Asked Questions

Which SCXI modules does it mount on?

The SCXI-1162, SCXI-1163, SCXI-1162HV and SCXI-1163R.

Will it work on an SCXI-1120 analog module?

No. It is made for the digital and relay modules above, and analog input modules such as the SCXI-1120 take their own blocks.

Does it need an earth ground?

Yes, whenever high voltage is present. Signals at 30 Vrms, 42.4 V peak or 60 VDC and above call for a safety earth ground connection, and the board itself carries that warning.

Is it offered used, with nothing beyond a visual check?

Yes. It is used and in real nice condition, and only a visual inspection was done. You get the block with its lid, and take on confirming each bank's isolation before any line voltage goes near it. Flat-rate shipping in the lower 48, and orders over the free-shipping line ship free.

Two 300V figures share one small label, channel to channel and channel to earth. Respect both, and wire the earth ground before anything else.
