Product Overview

Vocia is Biamp's networked paging and background music platform, and the VA-2060e is its two-channel amplifier at 60 W RMS per channel. Audio reaches it over CobraNet through two rear RJ-45 jacks for redundant connectivity, or through a local analog input on each channel. Each transformer-coupled output is set by its own rear dial for a 4 or 8 Ω load or a 25V, 70V or 100V line.

Key Features

  • Two amplifier channels at 60 W RMS each, 120 W maximum
  • Load Select dial per output: 4Ω, 8Ω, 25V, 70V or 100V
  • Class 3 wiring on the 100V setting; Class 2 wiring on the 4Ω, 8Ω, 25V and 70V settings
  • Two RJ-45 jacks for redundant CobraNet connectivity
  • One mic/line analog input per channel
  • Page active relay contact closure per channel while that channel is paging
  • 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz mains, plus single or dual 24V DC auxiliary inputs
  • EN 54-16 certified, rack mountable at 2RU
  • Front lights for AC Power, DC Power, Amp Fault, Activity and Status, plus Amp Fault, Activity, Signal and Analog Input for each channel

Applications

  • Replacing a failed two-channel amp in an existing Vocia paging rack
  • Driving two 70V or 100V speaker zones in a school or office paging system
  • Running a pair of 8 Ω speakers for lobby background music
  • Keeping a spare on hand for a CobraNet audio network

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one channel run a 70V line while the other drives 8Ω speakers?

Yes. Each output has its own Load Select dial, so the two channels are set separately.

Is it EN 54-16 certified?

Yes. The VA-2060e is EN 54-16 certified.

Does it need a 24V DC supply to run?

No. It runs on 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz mains. The 24V DC auxiliary inputs serve redundant operation, and no DC supply comes with it.

Is anything missing from this amplifier?

Yes. Three terminal plugs are missing, and no manuals or accessories are included. It is used, pulled from a working decommissioned system, and it powers on; no testing went past power-up. Flat-rate shipping in the lower 48, and orders over the free-shipping line ship free.

Each channel has its own load dial, running from 4Ω up to 100V. Three plugs left with the old system; both dials stayed.
