Product Overview
Canberra 3105 High Voltage Power Supply 5 kV Nuclear Instrumentation Module (NIM)
Condition:
Used and in good cosmetic condition based on visual inspection. The unit was powered on, and the output voltage matched the built-in meter reading. The power remained stable across the 0-5000V range. However, the adjustment knob is malfunctioning: the outer dial starts at 40, while the inner dial is stuck at 1 and does not respond to knob adjustments. Sold AS-IS due to the adjustment knob issue.
Here's what we know about it:
- Format: NIM module for nuclear instrumentation.
- Output: Provides regulated high voltage up to 5 kV DC.
- Current Output: Maximum of 100 µA (0.1 mA).
- Features:
- Adjustable output voltage from 0 to 5000V.
- Low noise, low ripple output for sensitive detectors.
- Overload and short circuit protection.
- Front panel digital voltage display and polarity/status indicators.
- Applications: Ideal for powering semiconductor detectors (e.g., germanium, silicon), photomultiplier tubes, and other radiation detectors that require stable high voltage.
- Operation: Voltage is set via a multi-turn potentiometer, though the current adjustment knob has issues.
Despite the adjustment knob problem, this power supply can still offer stable high voltage output for sensitive nuclear measurement systems.
