Product Overview

Built in Nuclear Instrumentation Module (NIM) width, Princeton Gamma-Tech's 326A manages liquid nitrogen fills for a cooled detector. Set the mode switch to Auto and it runs the fill cycle, lighting Filling while nitrogen flows and Overflow Full when the dewar is topped off; a Detector Low lamp warns when the level drops. Manual Fill and Stop Fill buttons on the front handle the exceptions. It powers itself from AC through an attached cord rather than from the NIM bin.

Key Features

  • Auto and Off mode switch with lamps
  • Manual Fill and Stop Fill pushbuttons
  • Filling, Overflow Full and Detector Low lamps
  • Rear Cryostat connector
  • Rear BNC lines: Disable Fill, External Fill, Ready to Fill, Filling
  • Two attached cords, one with a three-prong plug, one ending in a three-slot outlet
  • Rear fuse, marked Fuse 2ASB

Applications

  • Keeping an HPGe detector cold between shifts without manual dewar fills
  • Swapping in a working controller where an old 326A has failed
  • Signaling fill status to a data system or alarm over the rear BNC lines

Frequently Asked Questions

What do the rear BNC connectors do?

They are labeled Disable Fill, External Fill, Ready to Fill and Filling, for connecting the controller to other lab electronics.

Has it been tested?

It powers on and switches as expected.

Will it take over from a failed 326A without rewiring?

Yes. Front and rear panels both read Model 326A, and the rear carries the same Cryostat connector, the four labeled BNC lines and attached power cords, so the existing connections move straight across. Flat-rate shipping in the lower 48, and orders over the free-shipping line ship free.

The Detector Low lamp is the one nobody wants to see on Monday morning. Plug this in and let the controller worry about it.
